It was forty years ago
We were shovelin’ in the snow.
Chippin’ ice and haulin’ trash
Lots of laughs and not much cash.
Mowin’, edgin’, digin’ dirt
Sweat just pourin’ down the shirt.
And when days were filled with gloom
We cheered up in the boiler room.
Now we all have aged a bit
And some pains and creaks we get.
But we do the best we can
Cause we learned it from the Man!
