Helen Raynette Reed Cederberg 1934 — 2003

by Mark Cederberg, Stepson

Raynette Cederberg taught in the Chicago Public Schools, the Latin School of Chicago, and taught at-risk students in Stone Park, Illinois. She also taught in Turlock, California and Wheaton, Illinois.

Raynette was active throughout her life as a volunteer in Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. She was deeply involved in Anchor Covenant Church, a new church planting in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

Those who knew and worked with Raynette, admired her patience, imagination, caring, and kindness as a teacher and the way she handled her roles as mother, grandmother, wife, and friend. “She was so easy to love.”

She also made beautiful quilts, was well-known for them, and taught quilting to others. This included starting a group of quilters in Glen Ellyn Covenant Church who named themselves the “Covie Quilters.”

A wife, mother, step-mother, and grandmother of nine grandchildren, Raynette will be greatly missed by her family and friends. When asked what he loved about her, husband Nils responded, “What didn’t I love about her!” Blessings on her memory.
