Pietisten

News and Notes

Associate Editor earns Ph.D.

Nels Elde, Pietisten Associate Editor, successfully defended his thesis “Molecular genetic and evolutionary analysis of endocytosis in Tetrahymena thermophila” at the University of Chicago on January 21, 2005. Reports from those who attended the academic joust, concur that Nels was “very impressive.” In fact, these were the very words of Dan Anderson, a stalwart power forward for the Bethlehem Pietist Vikings.

Present, among others, were the young Doc’s mother, Carol, Employee Assistance Specialist, and his father, Bob, Chairperson of the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota.

Doctor Nels has not yet said the will have more time to devote to Pietisten now that he has finished his studies—an announcement to that effect is expected soon.
