Good Reverend Ray
From hallowed halls to city street
Young Cleric made his way;
He knew in time that he would meet
The brighter, better day
When small and lowly little losers
Passed up by “well-to-do”
Looked for an hour when they as choosers
Could vote a way to get them through.
And that Cleric lined and gray
Yet he persists, this stubborn dreamer,
This Reverend who we know as Ray.
He's off with dog and little more,
God knows where this will lead,
He may end up at your back door,
Or write a book that you will read.
He may do a thing so right and good,
So charming, so incredible
That it will end in Hollywood -
“Striking - Stunning - Unforgettable!”
Wherever you go dear friend of Ours:
To Bangladesh or local bar,
To Mexico or Thunder Bay,
Think well of us, Good Reverend Ray!
