Sport Prophecy (Second Hand)
The Sport Prophet declined to make any prophecy this issue. Ordinarily at this time of the year, he forecasts the outcome of the NFL. During a recent phone call from the editor reminding him of his responsibility, the Prophet said: “With this free-agency, you can’t pick ’em any more. In fact, the level of play is likely to decline because of the inability to keep a team together long enough to develop complicated offenses and defenses. The only thing you can say from me with respect to prophecy is that I prophesy more greed — witness both sides of the baseball strike.”
