The Long Home
Sometimes I wonder . . .
Just how it will be
To cross over to the other side.
It doesn’t worry me, for I have long since
Learned to trust my Lord,
And He said it is good.
But I still wonder.
“Our long home” is what
Ecclesiastes calls it.
I like that.
I like to think of it as home,
With all the good things that implies:
Like love and warmth and understanding.
And “long home,” too, is good.
