Fireflies

by Yenta

How do I deal with the truth
Of large life dreams scattered
At the edges of imagination
As lightning bugs blinking
In a synchrony understood
Only by fireflies?

They inhabit the universe
As do we.
And float to bear witness
Lanterns in the twilight
Caught between sweet sleep
And bright daylight.

These magical creatures
So capable in mere seconds
Illuminate. Now you see, no you don’t.
Awakenings of truth
Awareness, fireworks
Seeking the best dreams.
