Tribute to David "Gubba" Sandquist

August 15, 1825 to April 13, 2002

A dear friend to many, David was born and raised in Ashtabula, Ohio. He attended NP Jr. College and completed a B. A. degree at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. After working at the Children’s home in Princeton, Illinois, David enrolled at NP Theological Seminary and completed an M. Div. Degree in 1961. Dave was known as “Gubba,” which means “old man” in Swedish. It was a term of endearment which he graciously accepted from his youth on. He suffered serious eye impairment his entire life.

Gubba was a friendly, gracious, and loyal pastoral person. We will miss him. Blessings on the fruits of his ministry and on his memory.
